- Canadians Unite in a Powerful Celebration of Music Education with Triumphโ€™s "Hold On" on May 5, 2025 -

Excitement is reaching new heights across Canada as over 150,000 participants in more than six hundred locations prepare for Music Monday 2025. Organized by the Coalition for Music Education in Canada, this nationwide event is set to feature a monumental sing-along of Triumphโ€™s iconic anthem "Hold On," emphasizing the critical importance of music education and the unifying power of music.

On Monday, May 5, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. ET Canadians from coast to coast to coast will come together to simultaneously sing and play "Hold On," creating the worldโ€™s largest single sing-along event dedicated to promoting awareness for music education.

Released today, an exciting new video showcases the vibrant collaboration between Triumph founding members Gil Moore and Rik Emmett, along with over 250 talented children's voices, captured during a recording session at Mooreโ€™s renowned Metalworks Studio. This inspiring project features a powerful rendition of โ€œHold Onโ€ filled with youthful energy and passion, highlighting the incredible talent of young performers united in song. The video offers a sneak peek into this remarkable partnership and reinforces the core message of unity and inspiration that the upcoming Music Monday event celebrates.

Stacey Sinclair, Executive Director of the Coalition for Music Education in Canada, expressed her enthusiasm: "The recording, which features contributions from Grammy-award winning producer Greg Wells alongside Rik along with many talented young musicians and seasoned professionals, has revitalized this timeless Canadian rock classic into a powerful Music Monday anthem in remarkable ways. This collaboration not only highlights the musical prowess of its participants but also underscores the importance of music education. In the video, Gil offers an inspirational talk to the musicians in the studio, showcasing the incredible power of music to connect and inspire us all. It's heartwarming to see so many talented musicians coming together, reflecting the spirit of unity among Canadians".

Music Monday will see thousands of students, musicians, parents, and community members across Canada simultaneously singing and/or playing the anthem, creating the world's largest single event dedicated to raising awareness for music education. Participation can take many forms, including school classrooms, special assemblies, group concerts, and community events.

There is still time for schools and communities to register and participate in this inspiring celebration of music. Registration is free and provides access to teacher resources, audio and video recordings, arrangements, lyric sheets, a sing-along video, and an Artist Guide & Learning Guide. Registered participants will also gain access to numerous online music education sessions released on Music Monday.
